The Bavarian Forest National Park typifies gentle tourism. Therefore, those mountain bike tours are strictly prohibited, that lead directly through the core area. Nevertheless, cyclists will find a number of fascinating routes within the national park. A bike path network with a length of more than 200 kilometers is well signposted. Cycling - whether with conventional bicycles or e-bikes - is only allowed on these clearly marked and well maintained routes within the national park.

The neighboring Czech Šumava National Park can perfectly be discovered by bike too. For cross-border excursions, you can use the border crossings points at Bayerisch Eisenstein, Finsterau and Gsenget.
