Visitor Centre "Haus zur Wildnis"
Access by bus and/or train
An ecologically friendly access, by bus and/or train, is highly valued in the Haus zur Wildnis.
From Plattling train station, where ICE-trains stopp, the local train system, called Waldbahn, runs on the distance to Bayerisch Eisenstein via Zwiesel. Zwiesel train station is an important hub, as there also arrive other Waldbahn trains from the directions of Bodenmais and Grafenau. From Zwiesel to Bayerisch Eisenstein via Ludwigsthal, there is an hourly train service.
Next to the train stop of "Ludwigsthal", the circular route through the animal enclosure starts, this trail also leads to the Haus zur Wildnis.
The public bus line "Falkenstein buses" from Zwiesel, Buchenau and Zwieslerwaldhaus as well as the public transport bus system of the RBO (Arberlinie) stop at the Haus zur Wildnis visitor car park at the B11.
From the direction of the Czech Republic, there is, several times a day, the possiblility to go by Waldbahn from Klatovy via Bayerisch Eisenstein to Ludwigsthal. As well as there is public transport by bus from Zelezna Ruda to Bayerisch Eisenstein where you have to change into bus or Waldbahn to Ludwigsthal.
Access by car
From the motorway A 3 (exit Deggendorf) via federal road B11 into the direction of Zwiesel. From there continue in the direction of Bayerisch Eisenstein. At the end of the village of Ludwigsthal, you will find the Haus zur Wildnis visitor car park.

The parking fees are charged by commenced hour:
There is no fee charged if you have an official disabled pass.
The first half hour is free.
Cars:
Cars pay per commenced hour €1,00, maximum €5,00 per day
Coaches:
Coaches pay per commenced hour €3,00, maximum €10,00 per day
Multi-day tickets for cars:
This ticket is valid on all car parks where there is a parking fee, e.g."Haus zur Wildnis", Hans-Eisenmann-Haus with wildlife enclosure, and it does not expire.
